--General Electric (GE) chairman and CEO Jeff Immelt on the most important thing he learned at Harvard Business School. The quote comes from Geoffrey Colvin's 2005 Fortune profile, "The Bionic Manager." GE's earnings, released today, were flat but met expections. Sales beat forecasts and the stock rose slightly in a down market. With major restructuring--including the possible spin-off of GE's consumer and industrial unit--Immelt will certainly need those 24 hours.
