Power Point: Ignore the critics
“There’s always going to be someone out there like that movie critic, who doesn’t believe in you or who thinks your head is too big or you’re not smart enough or whatever. But those are the people you need to ignore, and those are the times you need to just keep doing what you love doing.”
– Jimmy Fallon, host of NBC’s (GE) Late Night and SNL alum, in a commencement address at the College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY on Saturday. Fallon also picked up a bachelor’s degree in communications, 17 years after first enrolling in classes at Saint Rose in 1992. He presented college officials with a portfolio of his TV and film work since he dropped out of college in 1995 — just one semester short of graduating — to pursue comedy in Los Angeles. “Finally, I convinced them that I’ve done enough communicating to get my communications degree,” Fallon said. –Jessica Shambora
