How the power players do it - by Fortune senior editor at large Patricia Sellers

Warren Buffett in "heaven": the photo gallery

October 24, 2008: 3:11 PM ET

Amidst the chaos in the markets, it's difficult to find time to breathe, much less pore over 2,500 pictures from our Fortune Most Powerful Women Summit in early October. But I finally made it through our trove and want to share part of it with you.

If you've been reading Postcards, you know that we had Warren Buffett with us for three days. What a treat. More than that, the Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.B) boss calmed 350 women leaders and two other guys--Goldman Sachs (GS) CEO Lloyd Blankfein and my boss, Fortune managing editor Andy Serwer--who participated in the powwow in North San Diego. "For a guy who couldn't get a date in high school, this is heaven," Buffett told us.

Here are a few choice glimpses of the world's richest man with some of our participants, who include Xerox (XRX) president Ursula Burns and other women on Fortune's 2008 Most Powerful Women list plus leaders in philanthropy, the arts, government and academia. (Place your cursor over the photos to read the captions.)

Come back to Postcards next week for some more pictures from the MPWomen Summit. And you can find even more pictures on Martha Stewart's (MSO) blog. Martha led a yoga class at the Summit--a huge hit and the most popular 6 a.m. event I've ever seen in my life.

Here's one more picture I'll share with you today:

What do you think Warren Buffett is whispering in my ear? Click on Comments below and tell me. Buffett whispered in Arianna Huffington's ear too--and if you want to know what he told her (and have a laugh), click here.

P.S. Click here for a list of video segments of Buffett and others at the Most Powerful Women Summit.
