Power Point: Live to work in New York

– Clay Felker, the pioneer journalist who founded New York magazine, died yesterday. I occasionally run into his wife, the writer Gail Sheehy, in my neighborhood Starbucks—and in fact, I saw her this weekend rushing in and out for a pickup. Suffering from throat cancer and in a wheelchair, Felker was cared for by Sheehy. When I saw them in December at a gathering hosted by CBS’ Lesley Stahl, Sheehy excitedly told me that she’d just returned from Pakistan where she spent a day with Benazir Bhutto for a cover story she was writing for Parade magazine. Bhutto died a couple of weeks later. Too much loss and tragedy.
