		<description>In my experience, high achieving women (I am generalising here) seem to think that they have to work twice as hard as men. You could say that this is true because implicit assumptions are made by senior leaders constantly in the selection and promotion process ie unless senior leaders recognise their own blind sopts they will hire and promote in their own imgage (and that image is not usually women) This creates a situation which causes a lack of recognition for women on true merit. Women&#039;s response, therfore, is to get up at 3/4am and work twice as hard during the day to compete and be seen. The work hard ethic is valid and it is also very 80&#039;s - the 21st Century demands a new way of working and for women I often wonder if the same results could be achieved with some clever networking and visibility tactics.
